Anneliese Schrenk and Maria Walker
Nov 13th – Dec 13th 2013, Project:ARTspace, New York
With Anneliese Schrenk and Maria Walker the association Coupé International kicks off a series of exhibitions, each of which will feature the works of two artists: One based in New York and the other in Vienna.
Coupé International´s goal is to establish an ongoing exchange between the two respective cities. While the first events will take place in New York, future programming will extend to Vienna and beyond that develop a nomadic practice.
The title of the series references a small car for two: Space and possibilities are limited but it also embodies a basic concept of motion with a flexible and playful spirit.
The accompanying magazine, complementary to each exhibition, will investigate distinct work and practices of the invited artists. Over time it will serve as an archive to support the mission of the project, further establishing a dialog between the artist from both cities as well as the invited writers.
Coupé International is made possible by our generous donors and supporters and public funding.
